La Soiree Review
Christmas is well and truly coming to London. This year it has brought La Soiree for its 10th year to the Christmas in Leicester Square site. I’ve been in the Spiegeltent for other events so this really is the perfect set up for the wonders that astounded me on Wednesday night. The entire line up for the press launch was fabulous from start to finish. We laughed, we sang, we were utterly gobsmacked and amazed. A mixture of burlesque, circus and cabaret, La Soiree has definitely made a name for itself and is a show to remember.
Acts from tonight’s show included Acantha Lang, Olivia Porter, David Girard, Satya Bella, Daredevil Chickens, Ursula Marinez, The English Gents, Hamish McCann, Captain Frodo and Denis Lock. It is so difficult to pinpoint highlights from the show as each act is utter perfection in every way possible. It is, however, Denis Lock’s show-stopping bubble act that was my absolute favourite of the evening. It must be seen to be believed. I know there’s probably some fully explainable scientific reasoning behind how this act was created, but I’m just going to continue to believe it is magic. Because what is Christmas without a little bit of magic.
It is easy to see why La Soiree continues to go from strength to strength each year. Many crowd favourites from previous years including Ursula Marinez and the English Gents return, however, this year they bring with them many new acts including Acantha Lang. La Soiree contains nudity, so it’s not one that you can take your whole family too but it is one that I can promise you will enjoy. There was a number of standing ovations throughout the performance I attended and I can honestly say they were all well deserved.
Make sure you book your tickets now to see Ursula Marinez ‘Vanishing Hanky Trick’, Olivia Porters astonishing juggling skills, Satya Bella and her magnificent hula hooping skills and all the other acts on stage. It’ll be a night you’ll be talking about for years to come.

Christmas in Leicester Square is a reimagined Christmas event in the heart of London’s iconic Leicester Square. Alongside La Soirée, the season features a traditional Christmas market and a Santa’s Grotto for families.
Opening times:
– Monday to Friday from 12noon to 10pm
– Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm
