Lanson Le Rosé Création Terrace at the Royal Horseguards Hotel

How did you celebrate the longest day of the year? At ONIN we celebrated the Summer Solstice in style drinking Champagne at The Terrace. The Terrace is a partnership between Lanson Le Rosé Création and Royal Horseguards Hotel for summer 2024.

The Terrace is on the ground floor of the Royal Horseguards Hotel. Everything felt elegant and summery from the pink blooms around the sign, to the pink bicycle where the champagne was served from, to the bloooms and greenery forming a natural canopy above some seating areas. We sat on a corner sofa on the upper deck area and were able to see part of the London Eye through the foliage. It felt part of London but at the same time set away from the hustle and bustle as The Terrace borders the Victoria Embankment Gardens.

Here among the rose-tinted flowers, we sipped on Lanson Le Rosé Création. This is both elegant and fruity. There’s notes of raspberry, pomegranate, strawberry, redcurrant, pomelo, blood orange and rose. The delicate pale salmon colour matched the complimented the beautiful flower arch. Being crisp and refreshing it was prefect for the sunny 22 degree weather that night. It was so easy and delicious to drink that it’s no wonder it quickly became one of our favourite champagnes!

Lanson Le Rosé Création is available for £18 for 125ml or £90 for a bottle at The Terrace. Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne houses. Perhaps you might like to try another Lanson product such as  Pere Et Fils (£16 for 125ml, £80 for a bottle) or Lanson Le Vintage for £130 a bottle.

If you don’t fancy champagne, The Terrace offers a selection of red, white and rose wines, bottled beers and cider, and various spirits. There are also three Spritz’s. The Terrace Spritz (£15) is made with Beefeater 24 gin, elderflower tonic, cloudy apple juice and mint whilst the Raspberry Fizzante (£15.50) comprises Belvedere vodka, cranberry juice, sparkling wine and raspberries. If you feel it’s not summer until you have a Pimm’s then you could have the Pimm’s Spritz (£16) containing- you guessed it- Pimm’s, sparkling wine, strawberries and cucumber. The menu itself features pink flowers and gold script, matching the elegant summer theme.

We were fortunate to win the raffle prize of afternoon tea. The Royal Horseguard Parade afternoon is valued at £55pp for basic, £65 with a glass of Lanson Pere Et Fils or £70 with a glass of LansonLe Rosé Création. The afternoon tea looks delicious!

The Terrace is available for private hire and would be a good location for parties, events and private barbeques.

Sipping Lanson Le Rosé Création on a sunny evening was certainly a beautiful way to celebrate the summer solstice!
