LEGO® Party! Is It The Ultimate Game Night?

Spoiler Alert! It is! The brand-new LEGO® Party! has officially launched and after diving in for an evening of mini-game mayhem, we here at Onin.London can confirm that this is the ultimate family (or friends) game night in a box.

Developed by SMG Studio, in collaboration with The LEGO Group and Fictions, LEGO® Party! has arrived on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and it’s just as colourful, chaotic, and charming as you’d imagine. If you’re a fan of similar party games, you’re going to love this!

We gathered the Onin team (and a few overly competitive friends and family)  to test it out and what started as “just one round” quickly turned into hours of hilarious chaos. From dodging aliens to racing through lava-filled arenas and getting smacked by flying roast turkeys (yes, that’s a thing), every mini-game is pure joy wrapped in LEGO magic.

With 60 different minigames, it’s impossible to get bored. Each Challenge Zone is themed around iconic LEGO worlds (from LEGO Pirates to LEGO NINJAGO® and LEGO Space) adding nostalgic nods for long-time fans and plenty of new discoveries for first-time builders.

Half the fun is creating your perfect LEGO avatar. The game boasts a gazillion (not a real number, but we’re going with it) combinations of hats, outfits, accessories and silly extras. Pirate hat? Check. Astronaut boots? Double check. A cape for dramatic flair? Absolutely. Every player’s minifigure feels as unique and ridiculous as the party itself. And the more you play the more outfits and characters you unlock!

Whether you’re playing side-by-side or battling it out online, LEGO® Party! keeps things light, fast and endlessly funny. Up to four players can join in, so grab your controllers, snacks, and prepare for friendly chaos. (Pro tip: don’t trust anyone holding a rainbow unicorn power-up.)

The main mission throughout though is to collect as many Golden Bricks as possible to become the ultimate LEGO Party! champion. Easy, right? Not when monsters, traps, and sneaky friends are all trying to stop you. But that’s the fun of it… the line between winning and losing is about as slippery as a LEGO banana peel.

Overall, LEGO® Party! is bright, brilliantly bonkers, and the perfect game for every kind of player! Our rating  9/10 – An absolute brick-tastic blast! It only lost a point because I’m a sore loser and kept losing the mini games!
