The Mandrake Announces Artist Residence with BULLYACHE
Fitzrovia hotel launches immersive artistic programme, inviting guests inside the creative process of avant-garde performance collective
This April, The Mandrake launches a new Artist in Residence programme, inviting acclaimed performance collective BULLYACHE to develop new work within the Masha Hari Theatre, a space at the forefront of contemporary creativity.
Running from 30th March to 5th April 2026, the residency offers the public a rare opportunity to witness the creative process behind the duo’s upcoming work ‘A Good Man After Dark’, which acts as a sequel to BULLYACHE’s London presentation of A Good Man Is Hard to Find taking place at Sadler’s Wells East, which originally premiered at the Venice Danza Biennale last summer.
Founded in 2021 by Courtney Deyn and Jacob Samuel, BULLYACHE are known for blending club culture, live music and physical theatre into immersive performance worlds.
Renowned for being at the forefront of creativity, The Mandrake provides artists and collectives with a rare space to experiment and innovate, championing diversity and artistic expression in the heart of London.
Open Studios
2 & 3 April | 6-7pm
Open to the public, guests are invited to step inside the creative process, through two Open Studio events on the 2 & 3 April (6-7 pm), and witness works in progress, encounter performers, and experience the project as it develops.

The artists will host an End-of-Residency Talk, offering insight into their collaborative practice, the themes behind the work, and the journey from experimental residency to full-scale performance.
