Members Cocktail Bar Martinez to open on Soho’s Greek Street this Summer

Now I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a few members’ bars since moving to London, but they’re all pretty much out of my price range if I wanted to purchase a membership.

Enter an exciting new members’ cocktail bar, Martinez. This bar specialises in reuniting forgotten vintage cocktails with much loved classics. It’s absolutely gorgeous and membership is priced at only £300 a year.

The team behind Martinez is headed by Maurice Marshall, (Sketch, Cuckoo Club, Maddox Club, Scorpios-Mykonos) who, having produced and hosted all kinds of unforgettable nights and events, is known as one of London’s most memorable and popular nightlife figures. Head Bartender, Max Greco has crafted cocktails globally, working at ‘Eau De Vie’ in Sydney before opening his own bar Vasco and winning several prestigious cocktail awards. The venue’s drinks offering is overseen by the acclaimed and much respected Dré Masso, coupled with the consultancy of highly respected specialists, ‘The Cocktail Lovers’, Gary Sharpen & Sandrae Lawrence. With an award-winning magazine and huge social media following, The Cocktail Lovers are regarded as an authority on cocktails, both in the UK and internationally.

We had a great time at the launch party sampling Martinez’ signature cocktail range and delicious bar snacks. Highlights include Lobster Thermidor Petit Choux, Truffle Croque and Serrano Bruschetta on homemade Foccacia. Our favourite cocktails were the Champagne Juliette, the Charlie Chaplin and the Toreador.

The staff at Martinez made us feel extremely welcome and added to the entire ambience of the place. It felt exclusive but also extremely comfortable. This isn’t your pretentious members club where you’ll feel out of place.

Priced at £300 for a year, membership offering is selective yet inclusive. Diversity is encouraged, which will create a community representing all walks, backgrounds, and dispositions.

Open from 5pm-1am, Tuesday to Saturday, Martinez will be a place where one can always find a welcoming face. We’re sold!
