It is indeed that exciting time of year where the dark night skies are illuminated with an array of colour; and the sound of the wind dominated by the abrupt and loud sound of fireworks.
In celebration of Guy Fawkes, you’ll be spoilt for choice in firework displays spread across London over the following week. As I’m sure wrapping up warm is one of the main priorities whilst in attendance of a fireworks display why not opt to do it in style.
Below I’ve listed some super cool finds to assist you in looking right on the night.
The Leather Puffer Jacket:
Admittedly I’m not a big fan of ‘the puffer jacket’ however Zara have managed to recreate the school boy go to jacket, making it that tad bit smarter and age appropriate. This super warm puffer is cut slightly slimmer than your conventional puffer jacket making it much neater. However that’s not the best thing about this…more excitingly, it’s made from the supplest leather. This will look great with a simple knit underneath and can even be worn as a day to day jacket to work or for smarter occasions.
This item can be found in Zara; retailing at £179 (in-store and online)
The Classic Roll-Neck:
If you’re looking for a simple and effective look then I suggest the good old classic roll neck to keep your outfit minimal whilst covering your neck in the cold. You can find a good quality roll neck jumper in various outlets on the highstreet, however my favour find has been this light grey Topman number. The great thing about this is it’s an investment piece as you can pull this out each and every year!
This item can be found in Topman; retailing at £30 (in-store and online)
The Moulded Flat Cap:
Anyone that knows me will recognise that the flat cap is one of my signature pieces during the winter. The flat cap may not be everyone’s cup of tea; however it looks smart and can be worn formally or dressed down for a more relaxed look. I find John Lewis offers a nice and very affordable selection each year. The moulded flat cap (as seen in picture) however comes in fewer variations however the 100% wool will keep your barnet warm (translation: Keeping your head warm) whilst enduring various activities outdoors in the very cold weather.
This item can be found in John Lewis; retailing at £30 (in-store and online)
