Mestizo Brings Mexico’s Independence Day Celebrations to London

This week, Mestizo, London’s beloved Mexican restaurant, will bring Mexico’s most important holiday to life with a series of vibrant events across its Chelsea and Camden locations. From September 11th to 15th, Londoners will be able to experience the flavours, music, and traditions of Mexico’s Independence Day in true authentic style.

For Mexicans, Independence Day is the biggest national celebration; a time to gather, shout “¡Viva México!” and honour their culture. Mestizo has created a multi-day programme to showcase the country’s rich gastronomy and festive spirit in London.

Programme Highlights:

● Thursday 11 Sept – Camden (Downstairs)
Kick off the party with free tacos for Mexican nationals (with ID), live mariachi and the first toast to Independence celebrations.

● Friday 12 Sept – Chelsea (Mexicanísimo)
An exclusive evening for Mestizo’s VIP guests with a one-night-only four-course menu created for the occasion.

● Saturday 13 Sept – Mestizo Market Camden (Mexicanísimo)
A family-style fiesta with Mexican street food, premium cocktails and live entertainment. Guests can enjoy iconic seasonal dishes, alongside traditional Mexican games like trompo and matatena.

● Sunday 14 Sept – Camden (Brunch)
Celebrate with Mestizo’s lively Mexican brunch. Mexican nationals receive 10% off (or £5 off) with ID. Three seatings available: 12–2pm, 2–4pm and 4–6pm.

● Monday 15 Sept – Camden & Chelsea (The Independence Day Fiesta)
The Independence Day Gala: a special set menu dinner culminating in the traditional “El Grito de Independencia”; Mexico’s iconic call to freedom and the highlight of the holiday.

● Tuesday 16 Sept – Camden & Chelsea (“Cúrate la Cruda”)
Because no celebration is complete without the morning after. Mexican nationals (with ID) receive 10% off their meal. Mestizo’s got your back (and your hangover).
