NOBU SHOREDITCH: THE CULTURALLY IMMERSIVE DESTINATION IN THE HEART OF VIBRANT SHOREDITCH

Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch (www.london-shoreditch.nobuhotels.com) the iconic, culturally immersive destination is located in the heart of Shoreditch, East London. Having re-opened on 14th June, 2022 the property features a new sixth floor, including the stylish Nobu Shoreditch Penthouse event space complete with a spacious private outdoor terrace, as well as two new bedroom types: Yuhi and Yuhi Skyline.

Nestled amidst the energy of East London’s creative district and the financial centre of the City, the hotel delivers the perfect blend of industrial chic and Japanese simplicity; with a wide range of rooms and suites, a world-renowned Nobu restaurant, NAMI bar, alfresco terrace, naturally lit event space for 200+ people and a tranquil spa and gym.

In August, my friend and I were extremely grateful to be invited to the Nobu Restaurant Shoreditch to review the food. We had a simply unforgettable experience and it is not hard to see why the restaurant is extremely popular. As we arrived at the restaurant we descended down a sweeping staircase and into the  minimalistic Japanese-Peruvian restaurant which showcases an open-plan kitchen and sushi counter. It was lovely watching our food be prepared and the chefs all taking pride in making sure each dish was utter perfection.

Nobu Restaurant Shoreditch is pioneered and created by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and the Nobu menu is influenced by his years of studying Japanese cuisine in Tokyo and his extensive travels. The diverse celebration of flavours formed Nobu’s trademark ‘Nobu Style’, which is intrinsic to all Nobu menus worldwide. The Nobu Restaurant Shoreditch, itself is under the care of Executive Chef Sandi Richmond, who used to run Nobu Istanbul. On the evening we were luckily enough to meet her and she is an absolute rockstar!

Executive Chef Sandi Richmond brings her wealth of experience working in exclusive global hotels and restaurants to deliver Nobu signature style in Shoreditch, with signature dishes including Yellowtail with Jalapeño, Black Cod Miso, Soft Shell Crab Kara-age with Ponzu and Umami Chilean Sea Bass.

Wait staff were absolutely lovely and happy to make recommendations, which helped as this was our first time visiting and we were a little overwhelmed at the menu. If I was to list everything we ate, we’d be here all day but our stand out dishes were the Black Cod Miso, Baby Tiger Shrimp Tempura With Ponzo, Jalapeño and Creamy Spicy Sauce, Beef Tenderloin With Teriyaki, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, New Style Salmon Sashimi, Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and Soft Shell Crab Cut Roll. These were all washed down with beautifully created cocktails with our favourites being the Yuzu and Apple Martini and the Tokyo Cloud.

Nobu Shoreditch is on the more expensive side, however, the quality of the food is extremely high. You will not leave hungry or disappointed. It is now one of my top restaurants to recommend to those looking to treat themselves. So what are you waiting for… treat yourself, a loved one or impress a first date at Nobu Restaurant Shoreditch now.
