Pancake Syrup Latte – Pancake Day Special at Black Sheep Coffee
This Pancake Day, two icons are flipping tradition. In a debut collaboration, British coffee house Black Sheep Coffee and Lyle’s Golden Syrup have teamed up to remix the familiar flavours of the season with a new limited‑edition drink: the Pancake Syrup Latte.
Launched nationwide on 11 February and available until 4 March, the drink can be ordered hot or iced. The exclusive recipe blends a double shot of Black Sheep’s 100% Robusta speciality coffee with Lyle’s Golden Syrup, mixed with steamed milk and finished with squirty cream and a golden syrup drizzle.

Olivia Haley at Lyle’s summed up the thinking behind the collaboration: “Golden Syrup and Pancake Day go hand in hand. It’s a beloved classic with over half a million packs of Lyle’s Golden Syrup flying off shelves each year. We started with the traditional flavours everyone knows, then asked: ‘what if Pancake Day lived in a latte?’ The result feels familiar, but totally fresh.”
I tried both versions on a rainy weekend. The hot latte delivered the strongest hit of coffee, but the syrup tipped it into overly sweet territory for me to really enjoy the drink. I’m mostly a hot‑latte person, but I tried the iced version thinking the sweetness might be better balanced. It helped a bit, but the drink remained very sweet overall. It’s one for the sweet‑toothed, or anyone who wants that unmistakable golden‑syrup pancake flavour in latte form.

To mark Pancake Day, Black Sheep Coffee is also running a ‘Golden Hour’ on 17 February, offering the Pancake Syrup Latte for just £1.00 between 7:30 and 8:30 am. The offer is available nationwide, exclusively via the Black Sheep Coffee app.
