Penelope’s Review
If you’re looking for a night full of food, dancing and a great vibe, look no further than Penelope’s in Covent Garden.
Part of the Amano Group, Penelope’s is a Spanish-Israeli fusion restaurant with food inspired by the founders’ time spent growing up in Tel Aviv and Spain, and DJs playing music from the same influences every Saturday night.
We visited as part of a hen party and from the minute we walked in, the party vibe started and I felt like I was on holiday.
Penelope’s offers an A La Carte menu, as well as pre-theatre menus, but as we were in a big group we ordered from the £55pp set menu. With such a big group and so many dietary requirements to consider, the team, specifically Lorena (the events manager) and Jade (our server) couldn’t have been more helpful.
All of the dishes are served as a sharing style and to start, we had Salmon Tiradito, Tuna Ceviche and Roasted Israeli Aubergine. This was followed by Chicken Shawarma, Alachofa Paella and Sea Trout and for dessert, a Baklava Cheesecake.
The flavours on the food were all really interesting and it all tasted delicious – who knew we needed an Israeli Spanish fusion restaurant!
Later in the evening, the saxophonist started and so did the DJ, and we found ourselves up on the dancefloor until the lights went on at midnight!
Whether you’re looking for somewhere for a birthday, night out with friends or just a good vibe on a Saturday night (or a weeknight!), I highly recommend Penelope’s and will definitely be looking for another occasion to go back for a boogie.
