Pineapple Week Review

1st June is international Pineapple Week.  Being a lover of both pineapples and cocktails (off course!)we couldn’t turn down the invitation to a Pineapple themed cocktail party hosted by Hari Hotel in Belgravia, Knightsbridge.

The elegant Hari Hotel is in the heart of Belgravia; conveniently located a short walk from world renowned designer capita of Sloane Street.  The sleekexterior of this boutique hotel blends in beautifully with the stylish fabric of the other beautiful Belgravia boutique shops, homes and café’s and is just a stones throw away from the stunningly pink and Instagram famous EL&N Café.

Hari Hotel interior combines elegant glamour with modern chic.  The rooftop bar is a lovely intimate space which has been transformed into an enchanted garden with beautiful flowers and vines adorning its walls.

We were warmly welcomed to the champagne reception for #preferredpineappleweek followed by a presentation of the symbolism of the pineapple.  The juicy beauty from the tropics is steeped in a history of hospitality dating back over 500 years. The pineapple became the emblem of hospitality when seafarers sought places to relax in port towns and would look for homes that had pineapples hung in their entrance, a signal that those friendly locals would welcome them for a meal or place to sleep. Since then, the pineapple has been used to express that ‘you are welcome here’ in a multitude of ways including depictions in monuments and the designs of doors, gates, and entryways across cities worldwide.

Each of the Preferred hotels will be showcasing signature pineapple cocktails from the #PreferredPineappleWeek Cocktail Series. We were treated to an abundant flow of cocktails such as the refreshing ‘I prefer Pineapple’ consisting of Pisco with its herbal earthy hues complimented by a decadent mix of homemade lemongrass syrup, pineapple juice and egg white – garnished with angostura bitters and basil.

With a rich history of inspiring travel and independent hospitality for more than 51 years, Preferred Hotels & Resorts utilises the pineapple as its brand logo to serve as a global guide for travellers, visually signifying that ‘you are welcome’ and inviting them to enjoy personalised and genuine luxury experiences 750 one-of-a-kind, independent hotels and across its portfolio of resorts in 85 countries.  Make sure that you book a room at the Hari Hotel or simply go for drinks at the rooftop terrace and sample the delightful range of #preferredpineappleweek themed cocktails that are currently on offer.  You wont be disappointed – especially as The Preferred Hotel’s chain is offering 5000 ‘pineapple points’ as reward for booking at any of their 750 stunning and distinctive hotels and resorts at over 85 destinations worldwide.
