Retrolicious 2

Having launched in April 2015, Retrolicious is a fresh, fun and footloose club night taking place on the first Saturday of every month, at one of East London’s most popular venues, Barrio Shoreditch. Fusing a mixture of genres, Retrolicious digs out the best in vintage Electro Swing, Soul and Funk, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Reggae and mixes it up with the cutting edge electronic sounds of today.

Coming up on Saturday 5th September, the next Retrolicious night at Barrio Shoreditch will feature 20th Century inspired music remixed, reworked and reconstructed with a 21st century twist to get feet tapping and hips shaking.  Throughout the night, Barrio will quench thirst with retro Latin cocktail classics – think Old Cubans, Mojitos and Daiquiris.

Guests are encouraged to add a vintage twist to their outfit- girls – slip into a halter-neck number, fix your hair with a flower or headscarf and add a flick of eyeliner to finish, boys – sling on a Hawaiian shirt, some turn up jeans and your best leather. On the night ladies can also pay a visit to Barrio’s vintage caravan to get dolled up 50’s style with scarlet lips, flicked eyeliner and voluminous victory rolls.

Founded in 2014 by music enthusiast and co-owner of the legendary ‘Electro Swing Club’, Max Pashm, Retrolicious has already made a name for itself in the clubbing world with their bi-monthly club night in Glastonbury, and now their monthly residency at Barrio East. Pashm is the resident DJ at all of the events, energising the dance floors with the infectious and distinctive sounds of Retrolicious, alongside a series of special guests DJa, such as A.SKILLZ, Father Funk and Basschimp to name a few.

Located in the heart of East London, Barrio Shoreditch is renowned for bringing innovative cocktails, delicious Latin-American food, and endless entertainment to one of the hippest areas in the city. Playing host to a series of successful monthly events, the versatile venue has become a trendy hot-spot for music enthusiasts and cocktail aficionados alike.

With a 300 capacity event space, and the quirky recognisable interiors of Barrio, the fully facilitated venue is the perfect option for a wide range of events and occasions. The design of the venue includes one of Barrio’s infamous caravans adorned in House of Hackney wallpaper, and wooden booths bejeweled with fairly lights help create an enchanting atmosphere. Custom painted tiles and suspended bucket lampshades are just some of the quirky, colourful decorations that help create the distinctive Barrio venue.
