Rosa’s Thai Cafe Arrives in Victoria
Rosa’s Thai Cafe are delighted to announce that they will be launching the next in line of their much-loved London cafes this May. The new addition to the group will be located on the corner of Gillingham Street in Victoria, in the site that recently hosted the charming pop-up Laos Cafe by Saiphin – Chef and Co-Founder of Rosa’s Thai Cafe.
The unique designs will be taken care of by Gundry&Ducker, who say: ‘We think Rosa’s Victoria should be as quirky as ever, but a little softer and safer than the more youthful restaurants. Victoria’s basement area will be converted into ‘Saiphin’s Living Room’, full of memorabilia and bamboo furniture that transport the customers to Saiphin’s home town of Khao Kor in Petchabun province.’
The quaint Victoria site will deliver the much-loved menu made famous at the existing cafes, serving up homemade helpings of Saiphin’s authentic Thai food with a contemporary twist. Punchy Thai flavours collide with ingredients sourced as locally as possible, from British beef and lamb to Thai basil grown in London. These fresh and exciting dishes come in the form of seasonal curries, zingy salads, warming soups and great-tasting noodle stir-frys.
The drinks menu also offers a truly authentic experience, with ice-cold Thai beer and bottled cocktails such as Kaffir Lime and Mint Toreador and Malt Banana Tree Old Fashioned, designed specifically to complement Thai dishes. Plus there’s a strong selection of aromatic loose-leaf teas from Comins Tea House that include Houjicha; Sencha karigane and a new addition to the collection, Lishan spring tea.
The new launch follows an exciting year for Saiphin Moore, who released her first book: Rosa’s Thai Café The Cookbook in 2015, and saw it become Amazon’s #1 seller for Thai food worldwide.
The Victoria site will officially open on 2 May 2016.
