STEAK BAY: A SUPERMARKET STEAK RESTAURANT
WHAT:
Celebrities and high-flyers will pay hundreds and thousands of pounds in London simply for a steak with a sprinkle of salt. While London may have some of the world’s most expensive steak restaurants, it now also has the cheapest with the opening of Steak Bay from Asda – offering premium cuts, star treatment and a sprinkling of salt, without the eye-watering prices.
For one night only, Asda’s lavish Steak Bay restaurant in London’s Shoreditch gives guests the chance to choose between mouth-watering, 21-day matured Tomahawk and extra thick cut, 30-day matured Sirloin Steaks, Ultimate British Beef Steak Burgers, slow-cooked Pork Rib Rack and more, all of which are endorsed by the prestigious Good Housekeeping Institute for the quality stamp of approval. And forget gold leaf-kissed meats, at this restaurant steaks will be rested in none other than tinfoil to lock in all the flavour (because who needs gold steak?!) then seasoned with salt at the table by expertly trained waiting staff.
Lucky diners will enjoy outstanding dishes prepared and plated with fine dining finesse by Asda’s executive chef, Senior Director of Innovation and Trends, Jonathan Moore and his team and served in the most stylish of surroundings where the only shock of the evening when the bill comes is that it’s all completely free of charge.
Asda is opening the restaurant after investing over £11.8m into meat, fish and poultry quality, introducing premium cuts such as 21-day matured tomahawk steaks from £25 per kg and increasing the thickness and maturity of all Extra Special steak lines to 30 days with prices as low as £5. This summer the retailer has also launched a new Ultimate Extra Special Range, created using the highest quality meats and designed so they are large enough to cater for the whole family.
As well as the amazing dishes listed above, products also include, the Ultimate Extra Special Chicken Shawarma packed full of flavour, marinated in a shawarma spice blend of six spices for only £8.50, Ultimate Extra Special Yorkshire Bread Pork Chop £3 and a foot long Ultimate Extra Special Lamb Shish Kebab with a Chilli & Garlic Sauce for £8.
Guests will have the chance to experience some salt sprinkling flair on their steak dinner, done the Asda price way, as well as sample the exclusive Steak Bay menu, open for one night only. However, those who don’t manage to snag a ticket to the swankiest steak joint in town will have the chance to create their own Bay-utiful Chef’s Table at home this summer as Asda’s Ultimate Extra Special range is on sale in stores and across the country and online now.
