Sticky Mango Taste Of Indonesia Review

Thursday night we visited Sticky Mango to sample chef Peter Lloyd’s Indonesian Tasting Menu. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and I fell in love with its three separate dining areas.
The Taste of Indonesia tasting menu celebrates the flavours and styles of the Indonesian islands as it was inspired by Chef Lloyd’s visit to Bali in July 2019. Chef Lloyd told us about how he was invited to Indonesia by Wonderful Indonesia (the national tourism organisation) and wass immersed in the local food culture from working in paddy fields to making fresh palm sugar, harvesting sea salt and catching tuna at dawn.  Whilst there he also had the opportunity to learn from three of the country’s leading chefs to discover ancient traditions and modern fine dining interpretations.
The TASTE OF INDONESIA 11 Course Tasting Menu is priced at £45 pp and is an absolute bargain. It’s available until 31st October and arrives in time forfor London’s celebration of Indonesian culture – Indonesia Weekend which takes place 7-8 September.
From start to finish, there menu is amazing. There simply wasn’t a dish I didn’t enjoy. Pretty unusual for me when it comes to such a large tasting menu. Especially as Chef Lloyd happily removed cucumber from some of my dishes as it’s definitely not a favourite of mine. I won’t bore you dear readers with a play by play of my thoughts of each course but instead check out the amazing menu and some of the beautiful pictures of what you could be sampling.
