Strand Palace – Book Your Next Staycation Now.

Over the years, Onin.London has been to many events at the Strand Palace and we were invited last month to stay at this gorgeous establishment.

Dating back to 1909, Strand Palace is one of the largest independent hotels in London with a fantastic central location on the Strand. The hotel even underwent a multimillion-pound refurbishment in 2020… so it really was the perfect choice for us to visit and explore the hotel and the area where it’s situated. For those interested, the refurbishment saw an overhaul of all 785 bedrooms, public areas, restaurant and bar refurbished with a modern art-deco inspired interior design.

Arriving at the hotel, it is safe to see why it’s a popular destination with guests. Staff were friendly and on hand throughout our stay, and we witnessed this same dedication shown throughout our stay to every guest who entered.

The deluxe king room where we spent the night was stunning and I probably had one of the best night’s sleep, that I’ve had in a long time! Strand Place… do let me know where you get your pillows from. I need them in my life!

For breakfast we ventured down to Haxell’s Restaurant & Bar for breakfast. Now those that know me, the only time I enjoy eating breakfast is at a hotel stay. So I always have high hopes and Strand Palace did not disappoint. Fresh and well cooked, it’s ranked as one of my top hotel breakfast buffets this year.

After enjoying late checkout, we were excited to try Strand Palace’s new afternoon tea. The hotel has teamed up with premium British chocolate brand, Love Cocoa, to launch ‘Strand Palace Afternoon Tea with Love Cocoa’ until 12th November to give diners a luxurious experience.

We love that Strand Palace and Love Cocoa support the Eden Reforestation Projects. This means that for every afternoon tea sold, one tree is planted.

The afternoon tea showcases an array of chocolate-inspired sweet treats that draw on Love Cocoa’s popular flavours. Our favourites were the espresso martini brownie with Love Cocoa coffee beans, delightful pistachio macarons with Love Cocoa caramel popcorn. I couldn’t fault any of the savoury dishes. I absolutely loved the Cornish crab and samphire mayonnaise on a sweet brioche bun, luxurious truffled egg and chives on rye bread, delectable honey smoked ham and wensleydale cheese wraps and a heritage tomato tartlet with whipped buffalo mozzarella. My friends who joined me for the afternoon tea were vegetarian, and they only had nice things to say about this menu.

As we left, we were treated to a complimentary Love Cocoa chocolate bar to take home following the afternoon tea. This is such a nice treat for guests and was very much appreciated.

The ‘Strand Palace Afternoon Tea with Love Cocoa’ is offering costs £45 per adult (£49 including a glass of prosecco) and £27 per child (up to 12 years), served daily from 12:00 to 17:00 (last serving at 16:00). Available to book now.

So what are you waiting for? Book yourself a staycation now. The hotel’s central location gives you the freedom to access some of the UK’s best landmarks by foot. Think St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, and the London Eye are all just a stone through away. Covent Garden, one of the UK’s premiere shopping destinations is also on the hotel’s doorstep. The lively shopping district is home to some of the city’s best shops, galleries, museums, and pubs. It really is the heart of London.
