Sushi In The City At Devonshire Club

Last Saturday ONIN.London visited Devonshire Club, London’s exclusive private member’s club. Normally you have to be a member or a guest to eat in this resturant, but now they’ve opened their door to the general public to enjoy a new and exciting Sushi in the City Saturday Brunch.

Sushi Chef extraordinaire, Victor Klomu  has created a delicious Japanese 6 course sharing menu with an amazing selection of sushi and sashimi, crisp raw vegetables with truffle ponzu dip, seafood and vegetable tempura with roast pork belly & chilli and coriander ramen. And we can’t forget the crispy duck and pomegranate salad and  miso-blackened cod as the final two savoury dishes of the brunch.

The sashimi consisted of fresh raw tuna, salmon, butterfish, scallops and shrimp. It was beautifully presented in a bowl full of ice with berries and edible flowers. (see here). Mixing this sashimi with the truffle ponzu dip was heaven, so this and the rest of our starters soon disappeared off our plates.

Each course brought to our table was even more beautiful and full of flavour. Chef Victor Klomu who we had the pleasure of meeting, has really made something special. After the 6 courses we were treated to Macha Mochi Balls and a to die for almond pastry tart. Both dishes just melted in our mouths and we left with massive smiles on our faces. (Though this could have also been due to the free flowing Champagne to go with our full stomachs).

The menu is £50 per guest, with the option of adding free- flowing prosecco at £15 per guest, or Champagne for £30 per guest. Serving will be in two hour slots for minimum of two guests, from 11:30am to 4:30pm every Saturday. Bookings can be through this number: 020 3750 4545  or through HERE.
