The Brush Review
Looking for a casual date night in Hoxton? Look no further than The Brush!
We were invited on a Friday night and when we arrived, the first thing I noticed was the vibrant artwork in the restaurant. It had really cool decor, high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, so was really bright. They also have an outdoor terrace, but unfortunately the British weather wasn’t on our side; so we sat indoors.
And then to the food…
We ordered a Limoncello Spritz and a Spicy Margarita to start, then had a bottle of house rose from their extensive wine menu.
To start, we ordered the Beef Tartare with a confit egg and sourdough and the Burrata with heritage tomatoes and basil oil. Both were really light and fresh; perfect summery starters.
For mains, I had a Chicken caesar salad and L had a Rib-eye steak, and we both ordered a side of Fries. The portions were really generous and although the steak was a little bit fatty, the flavours were great and the chips were nice and crispy.
As our food was relatively light, for once we actually had space for dessert! We shared a Raspberry Mille-Feuille and the Chocolate Gateau, which looked just like Bruce Bogtrotter’s cake from Matilda!
Overall we really enjoyed our meal; the vibe was casual, food was tasty and service was attentive, so I’d recommend The Brush in Hoxton for casual date nights or an evening out with friends.
