This festive season, Christmas has come to Hogwarts!

It’s been awhile but Christmas has returned to Hogwarts and we couldn’t be more excited. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Warner Brothers’ Studio in awhile so it was a shock and a pleasure to see how big the tour has grown!

After enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies in the waiting area, we were taken inside a movie theatre to revisit how Harry Potter took over the world. We then were taken to a grand set of doors which lead to the Great Hall stage.

Upon opening the Great Hall stage it was amazing to see it once again decorated for the Christmas Feast. The long dining tables were dressed with seasonal feasts at Hogwarts of roast turkeys, hams studded with cherries and even Christmas puddings!. It continues to amaze me that all this fabulous and realistic looking food was all just props in the film.

More drinks and canapes were present throughout the studio tour, but these were often forgot as we explored. As part of the Hogwarts in the Snow feature, many of the sets and props were given a Christmas makeover. The Gryffindor Common Room and Boys’ Dormitory were especially fantastic and made us feel like we were with Harry when he woke up during his first Christmas in ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’.

Despite being four times to the studios, I still love learning about the magic behind Harry Potter. Also seeing the expansion of sets such as the Forbidden Forest and the new Gringotts set made me feel like I’d stepped foot straight into the movies. We rode broomsticks, sat on the Hogwarts Express, ran through Platform 9&3/4s, strolled down Diagon Alley and even drank Butter Beer. My friend was not a fan but the nostalgic feeling it brought me was worth it. We also loved the new photo ops available during the tour. It was an evening we’ll never forget.

The tour ends in the room with the Hogwarts castle model. This model has been transformed into a winter wonderland and must be seen to be believed. It’s massive and it’s amazing that this model was used in filming those fabulous scenes of Harry flying over Hogwarts.

Hogwarts in the snow runs until Sunday 16th January 2022 and ticket availability + purchases are through:https://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/. The feature is close to selling out, but tickets are available currently for the rest of 2022 as well, so it still makes a great Christmas present
