You might have thought that cinemas are a pretty tried and tested affair. Secret cinema, nighttime screenings, film marathons, they’ve all been done… So what could be next in line for cinema events in London this summer?

Enter TimeOut and City Cruises’ Floating Cinema. Boat party meets slumber party on the River Thames this summer, as you cruise through the sunset and settle down on the top deck to watch a film under the stars – all whilst floating past some of London’s most iconic landmarks.

And the floating cinema, the first of its kind on the River Thames, spares no expense in having selected the very best films – there will be something to suit everyone. The maiden voyage of the Floating Cinema will be on the 15th June, with Jaws as the film of choice. Other screenings include Mary Poppins, Notting Hill, Finding Nemo and La La Land.

With comfy seating and  a bar onboard, what more could you want? Floating Cinema runs 5 nights a week, departing at 8pm from Tower Pier and returning at ~11pm. Tickets start from £29. Reserve your place here.
