The Ultimate Guide to Soho and Fitzrovia
Soho and Fitzrovia are two of the most glamorous neighbourhoods in London – steeped in history and culture and alive, – day and night. With so much good stuff to choose from, how can you make the best decision on where to go, where to eat and what to do? Well, we’re here to help and advise with our round up of top places we’ve been recently.
Soho’s Best Tacos at El Pastor
The El Pastor family is a small group of Mexican restaurants in London inspired by the decade our founders spent in Mexico City. The Soho location is vibrant, bright and buzzy, offering up a full plethora of authentic dishes to enjoy, alongside a very impressive cocktail menu with Margaritas by the dozen. We may our way through the menu, opting for small sharing plates, tacos and quesadillas. A must order are the Mexican chips, which you can enjoy alongside five house made dips. The La Maya which was a mix of pineapple and habernero was a firm favourite. We also made our way through the cocktail menu and really enjoyed the Spiced Mango and Breakfast Margarita.

Score a Crisp Cheesy Pizza at Rudy’s
Rudy’s pizza is quickly becoming a firm favourite for all Londoners, with new restaurants popping up all over the city. The Soho outlet is one of the larger locations and was packed to the brim when we went on a Wednesday evening. nspired by seasonal ingredients, local Italian neighbourhoods, or famous Neapolitan pizzerias. Rudy’s makes true Neapolitan pizzas that are actually authenticated by the Association of True Neapolitan Pizza (AVPN). Topping options and dips are vast, and every 8 weeks, the pizzaioli team create new specials, meaning you can go back time and time again to try something new. As if you needed an excuse…

Enjoy Local Produce and Fantastic Dining at The Sussex Restaurant in Soho
The Sussex is a fantastic little restaurant based in the heart of Soho. A modern bar and restaurant set up by the Gladwin brothers, the menu boasts sustainable, local, farm-to-fork food. The interior is cosy and inviting and there are a fantastic range of cocktails on offer. It would be a crime to dine here and not order the Mushroom Marmite Éclair that is famed in Soho! For something truly special, pull up a seat at the Chef’s Table by the Kitchen. It’s an intimate space where you can dive deeper into the Sussex world with private dining, wine evenings, or hands-on masterclasses.

Get a Fresh Colour at Haug London Haus in Fitzrovia
This award-winning salon should be top of everyone’s lists for hair treatments. In fact, I think this was the best hair salon experience I’ve ever had! The lovely team welcome you with a drink, be it bubbles, juice, fresh ground coffee, you name it, they have it. The team are super friendly and knowledgeable and it’s clear that everyone really enjoys working there, and with each other. The owner Philip was incredibly warm and welcoming and really knew his stuff. I left with a rich new colour, a light trim and a bouncy blow dry that lasted the rest of the weekend. I will definitely be back!

The Seafood Bar is renowned for its excellent quality and service. With a menu that ranges from fruits de mer to fish and chips, this award-winning outpost is some of the freshest seafood you can get away from the coast. Whilst every dish was amazing, we wanted to give a special shout out to the Crustaceans and Shellfish Dish cooked in Pernod sauce which was absolutely standout. There’s an impressive wine list here and the cocktails are fantastic as well – just an all around great place to dine.

Fresh, fluffy brows at Blink Brow Beauty in Liberty’s
The Blink Brow Beauty girls and boys are absolute icons in the brow care space. Whilst they have locations dotted around London, their residency at Liberty London is a really special experience. Get your brows plucked and preened to perfection under the roof of one of London’s oldest and much loved shopping spots. I went for brow lamination and was super impressed with the results which always tend to last over four weeks. Leaving you looking fabulous for longer!

Go Celebrity Spotting at Quo Vadis
If you know your Soho, you’ll of course know about Quo Vadis. A historic Soho restaurant and private members’ club, this restaurant has a colourful past and a timeless allure. It’s a common celebrity haunt and I’m pretty sure Maroon 5’s Adam Levine was there the same evening I was. Although you’ll have never known, as the team are so professional and discreet. The food is excellent and interiors quirky and vibrant. I can highly recommend the pie and a large glass of red wine – the perfect evening in bustling Soho. Their menus are also quite iconic and beautiful so make sure you keep one for framing – add a little Quo Vadis to your interiors.

Have a Delicious Steak Dinner at Macellaio in Soho
Macellaio is fairly renowned for having some of the best, biggest and most impressive steaks in London. It’s Soho location is no exception! Macellaio means “butcher” and the team like to call their steakhouses the butchery with tables. The steak they serve is exclusively from the Fassona beef breed, sourced from special mountain valleys in the north of Genoa. We gave it a taste test and it gets a huge seal of approval here. We also love their beef dripping candle which comes at the start of the meal with freshly baked bread to mop up that umami goodness.
