Virgin Atlantic Holidays and Barbados Tourism Board Bring the Spirit of the Caribbean to Battersea Power Station this Summer

Throughout June to August, a partnership between Virgin Atlantic Holidays and the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. will transform the Battersea Power Station into a vibrant celebration of Barbados. The iconic London landmark will come alive with the island’s sights, sounds, and flavours, offering a series of free events that bring Barbados’ rich culture to the heart of London — all while inspiring visitors to book their next Caribbean getaway with Virgin Atlantic Holidays.

Visitors can take advantage of exciting Barbados inspired activities throughout the summer, including complimentary yoga sessions, a two-week Road Tennis tournament to bring this iconic Bajan sport to Battersea Power Station, cooking demonstrations from chef Randolph Bancroft, Sunset Sessions with rum bar and live DJ, a dedicated Chill Zone in Turbine Hall B inside the Power Station and steel drum performances around the riverside neighbourhood. Virgin Atlantic Holidays will even have its very own pop-up store in Turbine Hall B from 28th July to 3rd August, with its holiday experts on hand and ready to advise guests on the enthralling experiences Barbados has to offer.

Sunshine Yoga

  • When: 30th June, 4th July, 5th July, 7th July, 11th July, 12th July
  • Where: Power Station Park
  • Embrace your inner zen with complimentary morning yoga sessions
  • Pre-booking essential via the microsite

Road Tennis Tournament

  • When: Daily competitions – 16th – 29th June
  • Where: Power Station Park
  • Try your hand at Barbados’ iconic sport – a dynamic combination of table tennis and tennis played on a road surface. This two-week tournament invites visitors to register to play and compete for a space on the leaderboard.

Bajan Street Food Experience

  • When: 12th July (11am – 3pm)
  • Where: Power Station Park
  • Tantalise your taste buds with authentic Bajan cuisine prepared by Bajan chef Randolph Bancroft. Watch a live cooking demonstration and enjoy tasty treats.

Sunset Sessions

  • When:  22nd & 23rd August (5 – 8pm)
  • Where: The Coaling Jetty
  • As the sun sets over London, enjoy Caribbean rhythms and signature cocktails at this exclusive evening event. A rum bar will serve cocktails (including zero-alcohol options) while a DJ spins tropical beats

Steel Drum Band Performances

  • When:  1st & 2nd August
  • Where: Around the Battersea Power Station estate
  • Experience the iconic sound of the Caribbean with a professional steel drum band performing three 30-minute sets daily, creating an authentic Bajan atmosphere.

Pop-Up Store

  • When:  28th July – 3rd August
  • Where: Ground Floor, Turbine Hall B
  • Visit the one-week pop-up store to speak with the team of Virgin Atlantic Holidays experts who can help plan and book your dream holiday.

Chill Zone

  • When: 6th June – 25th August
  • Where: Upper Ground, Turbine Hall B
  • Take a break from shopping and relax in this Barbados-themed lounge space featuring comfortable seating, digital displays, and inspiring imagery
