250 Years of Zippos Circus in Blackheath!

Zippos Circus is back on the road in 2018 with a nationwide Big Top tour – ‘LEGACY’ – celebrating the 250th anniversary of circus entertainment. The show is based in Blackheath London, surrounded by the beautiful greenery of south London.
The ‘LEGACY’ tour mixes the extraordinary talents of equestrians, astonishing, acrobats, comic clowns and dashing daredevils who pay homage to Englishman and charismatic impresario Phillip Astley, who invented the worldwide sensation that is circus in 1768.
With three children in tow we went to explore the amazing show and see what Zippos Circus had to offer us in their 250th anniversary show. LEGACY was presented by the world’s most famous Ringmaster Norman Barrett MBE, who also performed with his colourful fun-loving budgies. We were treated to amazing horse acts by The Khadikov Riders, the stunts they performed were breath taking. It was by far a “do not try this at home” moment, but the children and I were mesmerized by the jumps, dives, twists and turns the riders performed.
You cannot have a circus without clowns and the funny and talented Totti with his wife Charlotte did not disappoint us. Charlie, Totti’s son, also treated us to the future generation of clowns with an on stage appearance. He was the cutest clown and immediately had the children determined that they would join the circus too.
Daredevil Pablo performed high in Big Top atop a dazzling Space Rocket; plus Cuban acrobats the Hermansito Troupe, showed off their Springboard and Russian Bar skills, and foot juggling from Romy.
The show was astounding and worth every penny, you have to get down to Zippos Circus before the show ends, the children will love and so will you.

Zippos Circus will be on tour across the UK from Thursday 29th March to the end of October 2018. Tickets for the two hour show start from just £9 for adults (15 years and over) and £7.50 for children. Seats for Preview Shows are available for £7.50. Kids under 2 go free if they don’t occupy a seat.
