Great White Water Rafting
Lee Valley White Water Centre is to launch its new ‘Great White’ Water Rafting Experience to the public this Easter weekend (Sunday 1 April 2018) and officially introduce its two newest team members – a pair of Great white sharks called Daisy and Lucas.
The 2 hour session will see participants learn and develop the basic techniques of rafting before navigating the wild, shark infested waters of the Olympic course. Priced at £38 per person, this ultimate ‘bucket list’ experience includes all kit and equipment such as helmets, wetsuits and buoyancy aids as well as tuition from an expert raft guide. In addition to signing a waiver in the event of injury (or worse), participants will be required to complete a health and safety briefing and swim assessment before accessing their raft.
Martin Brody, Customer Experience Manager at Lee Valley White Water Centre said: “Rafting on our white water course is exhilarating at the best of times however, we thought that it’d be great to add a bit more bite so that rafters could get around quicker. After ruling out boiling water pools and piranhas, the addition of sharks just made sense.
“Just like our raft guides, Daisy and Lucas really encourage you to paddle faster – especially when they’re hangry and snapping at your paddle. We can’t wait to welcome shark fans and thrill seekers – it’s an opportunity not to be missed!” Sounds exciting!

Disclaimer: Please note that this is an April Fool’s stunt – the ‘Great White’ Water Rafting Experience is not a real activity, however you can raft from just £38pp.
