Comptoir Libanais – Christmas Feast Review

This Christmas Comptoir Libanais is helping spice up your elebrations with their Lebanese and Middle-Eastern feasting menus. We’ve reviewed Comptoir Libanais a few times and it is one of our favourite restaurants so we were looking forward to seeing how Founder, Tony Kitous has worked with his team of chefs to create menus for the festival period.

Attending the press launch OnIn.London was treated to a tasting of the two Christmas Menus. The Lebanese Feast is priced at £22.95 and The Middle Eastern Feast is £29.95 (with the added bonus of a prosecco on arrival). Both feasts offer a range of mezze starters for the table to share, a main for each guest and then desserts to share. We were pretty lucky and got to try dishes from both menus and as there was so much food I’m just going to tell you about our favourites.

In terms of starters, make sure you try the Turkey Kibbeh, Beetroot Homous, Baba Ghanuj and the Cheese Sambousek – Pastry parcels filled with feta, Lebanese cheese & mint. These were all divine and I kept going back for more.

For mains there’s a Christmas twist on the traditional Kofta with the introduction of a Grilled Turkey Kofta! Though our top pick of the night was the Seabass Sayadieh – Marinated roasted seabass served with spiced rice, pine nuts & crispy onions, with a spiced tahina and yoghurt sauce. It was very lovely and the other guests couldn’t stop commenting on it.

Now for desserts expect Christmas baklawas – pastries with nuts & honey as well as chocolate, ginger and orange flavours and the Rose and Red Berry Chocolate Cake. The Chocolate Cake was so rich and tasty, I really didn’t want to have to share. It was way too good.

Comptoi Libanais have also created welcome drinks and party packages are on offer with some great deals on prosecco and Christmas cocktails as well as Lebanese wines. The Christmas Twist on the Cosmopolitan is a must have drink and I had quite a few of them. They were just perfection.

Christmas hampers, food, drinks, products and Comptoir Libanais cookbooks can also be purchased during the evening. Pretty damn good if you ask us. Who knew you could do your Christmas shopping at your office Christmas Party. There’s 21 locations for Comptoir Libanais, so you’re bound to find a restaurant near year. We visited the Soho one and can guarantee they’re all as cute as each other.
