Royal Lancaster Review

Two weeks ago we checked in to The Royal Lancaster, for a stay in one of the most Instagrammable suites in London.

The Royal Lancaster is located in the leafy Lancaster Gate, one of the most desirable postcodes in London and just on the corner of Hyde Park. A few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube and well within reach of many of central London’s attractions makes the hotel an ideal base for exploring the city (if you force yourself out of your gorgeous room, that is!).

We were taken up to the Spires Suite, on the 17th floor and were stunned by the around-the-room windows and stunning views of West London and Hyde Park. The Spires Suite, as well as boasting one of the best views in London, is also 506 sq feet compromising of a dining area and living space, king size bed and wardrobes, and a marble bathroom with a bath and shower. All bathrooms are equipped with The White Company products, and the rooms have plenty of charging points and a smart TV for all your entertainment needs.

We immediately donned the fluffy bath robes, and popped open a bottle of house champagne which you can add to your room in an additional package.

Due to Covid-19, the restaurant Nipa is closed for normal service however over-night guests can have dinner in a more spacious dining area or served in room. Nipa is renowned for serving the most authentic Thai cuisine outside of Bangkok, and the traditional all-female, all-Thai kitchen team has been led by Head Chef Sanguan Parr for the last two decades. We ordered the vegan Thai green curry and beef red curry,  which were both delicious and authentic. We declared the beef red curry as being the BEST in London.

As with any hotel stay, room service is a must! After a peaceful nights sleep we ordered the full English and vegan English breakfasts to our room with fresh juice, tea and coffee. It was really great to see the hotel experiment with different vegan options for breakfast and we enjoyed every bite.

The Royal Lancaster succeeds in making you feel spoiled at every turn, and was a welcome escape from the rainy weather and the strain of current times. As well as being ultra-luxurious, the hotel is completely Covid-19 secure.

You can currently book a deluxe room for £199 with breakfast included or take advantage of their autumn offer: upgrade to an Executive room or Suite with a 50% discounted supplement offer throughout October.

Thanks for a great stay. We couldn’t be more impressed with the service, the food and the location.
