A stay at Manchester CitySuites

Luxury accommodation that feels just like home

Have you ever gone away and just missed the mod cons from your daily life? I’m not talking about travelling abroad, for those trips it’s nice to feel far away from the kitchen utensils. I’m talking more about when you’re travelling in the UK, or taking a city break.

Hotels are of course fabulous, but sometimes, when your travelling is a little more domestic, it can feel nice to have that home away from home feel, with all the luxuries of staying in a hotel.

That’s exactly the experience you get when staying at Manchester CitySuites. One fine Sunday, we hopped onto the Avanti morning train to sunny Manchester, and checked into a luxury two bedroom apartment.

With it’s incredibly central location, we were only a stone’s throw awsy from the central city sights and major shopping streets, but when entering the spacious apartment, it was like checking into an oasis of calm.

Beautiful sweeping views of the city were found, and two large bedrooms spanned off the open plan kitchen, diner and lounge. The kitchen itself was fully equipped, with a large refrigerator, oven and stove – cooking dinners here would save a lot of pennies, compared to eating out.

But why eat in when there is a fantastic restaurant on-site? Embankment Kitchen is head up by Head Chef, Josh Singleton, who brings creative flair to each dish he designs. The menu is seasonal and changes throughout the year.

Upon our visit, we got to enjoy some delicious Korean Chicken Bites which were tender and rich with sauce and flavour. For mains, we both decided on the Sirloin Steak which was cooked to perfection and accompanied with well-seasoned fries, a tomato, mushroom and fresh chimichurri.

After dinner, before retiring to our plush room, we paid a visit to the stunning  pool, sauna and steam room. The pool was super relaxing, with a warm jacuzzi nestled at the end. It’s the perfect spot to do some laps and get some exercise in during your stay. There is also a fully-equipped gym as well.

CitySuites guests can enjoy exclusive access to the Executive Lounge, a stylish space to relax throughout their stay. The newly renovated first-floor space allows guests to enjoy breakfast, connect with friends or hold an impromptu meeting with colleagues over tempting food and drinks.

In the evening, the space transforms into a stylish evening lounge where a two-course dinner menu is served from 6:30pm – 10:00pm – a daily-changing menu that features seasonal ingredients and national classics created by CitySuites’ in-house chefs

There are plenty of things to do and see in Manchester during your stay. Football fans can pay a visit to Old Trafford for a tour of the grounds. The shopping in Manchester is fantastic, with a highly regarded shopping centre with plenty of designer and high street options. Perhaps you’re into daytime TV and fancy a tour of Coronation Street?

Whatever destination your day in the Northern capital takes you to, at the end of the day you can return to your spanning home away from home to enjoy an indulgent and luxurious night’s sleep. Amongst all of the mod cons, guests will also have access to a Sky Premium package, ultrafast broadband, a Nespresso coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine and GHD Air Hairdryer – so you can pack light during your visit.
