Best Brunches: Dwyers of Cork

If you’re looking for one of the most unforgettable brunch experiences in Cork, look no further than Dwyers of Cork. Nestled in the heart of Cork city centre, Dwyers has firmly earned its reputation as one of the best brunch spots in town, and after my recent visit, I can absolutely see why.

I had the pleasure of going on a particularly special and crazy day — a Father Ted themed brunch. The second I walked in, I was greeted with the hilarious and surreal sight of staff and fellow brunch-goers dressed up as nuns and vicars, all fully committed to the theme. It created an atmosphere that was both fun and fantastically Irish — the kind of quirky charm you can only find in a place like Dwyers. There was even a “Lovely Girls” competition going on in one corner of the bar, and it felt like I’d stepped right into an episode of the show. It was brilliant craic from start to finish.

Now, let’s talk about the cocktails. I kicked things off with a lychee martini, which was sweet, sharp, and beautifully balanced. I followed that with a cosmopolitan, which was equally delightful. The bartenders at Dwyers clearly know their stuff, and each drink was presented with care and flair. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just someone looking to enjoy a cheeky drink with brunch, the cocktail menu is sure to impress.

Food-wise, Dwyers truly hits the mark. I opted for the chicken and bacon salad, and I was not prepared for the sheer size of it — it was ginormous, and absolutely delicious. Packed with flavour, generously portioned, and presented beautifully, it was easily one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. It’s always great to find a place that balances quality and quantity so well.

Dwyers’ brunch menu is legendary for good reason. Operating seven days a week from 12 noon, it includes all the classics — Eggy Benny, Belgian-style waffles, and hearty savoury sandwiches, all crafted with a modern twist. But the real stars of the show are the signature pancake sharing board for two, stacked high with fluffy American-style pancakes and a rainbow of toppings, and the iconic Bottomless Brunch is available Friday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, offering unlimited Prosecco or Mimosas with any dish of your choice. It’s no surprise that locals and visitors alike rave about it.

From themed brunches to show-stopping food and drinks, Dwyers of Cork delivers an experience that goes far beyond your typical weekend meal. Whether you’re popping in for a casual bite or going all-out with Bottomless Brunch, you’re guaranteed a good time. With its warm atmosphere, creative events, and knockout menu, Dwyers isn’t just one of Cork’s best brunch spots — it’s a destination in itself.
