Pizza Pilgrims hosts The Great British Crust Comeback
This April, Pizza Pilgrims is giving pizza lovers across the UK a delicious new reason to rethink the humble crust. In collaboration with a lineup of much-loved British food brands – Dishoom, Honest Burgers, Pho and Sweet Dee’s Jerk – the Neapolitan-style pizzeria is launching The Great British Crust Comeback: a limited-edition pizza crust dipping menu designed to turn leftovers into the highlight of the meal.
The campaign taps into a very British dining habit. Research shows that one in four people can’t enjoy pizza crusts without a dip, while an even more striking 75% say they’d be more likely to finish their crusts if paired with the right sauce. Despite this, crusts often go uneaten – something Pizza Pilgrims estimates amounts to a staggering 47 tonnes of waste each year, roughly the weight of four London buses.

Living by their motto “In Crust We Trust,” Pizza Pilgrims is on a mission to transform perceptions of the cornicione – the airy, charred edge of a Neapolitan pizza. Their new “Double Dip” menu aims to elevate the crust from afterthought to main attraction with four bold, flavour-packed sauces inspired by Britain’s diverse food scene.
Each dip is a collaboration that reflects the identity of its partner brand. Diners can enjoy the spicy-sweet kick of the Dishoom Chilli Chutney Dip, the savoury comfort of the Honest Burgers Rosemary Chips Dip, the rich and nutty Pho Peanut Sauce, and the smoky, vibrant Sweet Dee’s Jerk BBQ. Together, they offer a cross-cultural flavour journey that mirrors the UK’s eclectic culinary tastes.
But the initiative isn’t just about reducing food waste or enhancing flavour – it also carries a meaningful charitable purpose. The launch coincides with World Wish Month, a global fundraising campaign supporting critically ill children and their families. Throughout April, Pizza Pilgrims will double its donations from every dip sold, helping to grant life-changing wishes while encouraging customers to clean their plates.
By combining creativity, sustainability, and social impact, The Great British Crust Comeback is more than a menu update – it’s a call to give crusts the attention they deserve.
