Treat Yourself To Glass Facial At Young LDN.

As a solo mum to twins, I never have time for time for myself so any time I do manage thanks to friends or family feels like a luxury. Between feeds, pumping, naps and the constant juggling act that comes when you’re a twin mum or motherhood in general, a pamper session is rarely at the top of my  priority list. So, with Nanna on babysitting duty, I was fortunate enough to be gifted a visit to Young LDN for their Glass Skin Facial and it was exactly the reset I needed.

From the moment I arrived, staff were friendly and while I sipped my iced matcha (from the venue’s in-house cafe) they explained exactly what a Glass facial was. I was then able to switch off and enjoy 45 minutes that were entirely about me. It’s amazing what a difference that can make when you’re so used to putting everyone else’s needs first. And if you’re a new mum it can sometimes feel like your own needs are often neglected.

So what is The Glass Facial and what does it do? Well The Glass Skin Facial was designed to deliver that coveted lit from within glow, combining dermaplaning, an advanced active peel and cooling cryotherapy to leave skin looking brighter, smoother and beautifully radiant. After nearly 10 months of interrupted sleep (over 18 months if you include pregnancy insomnia) and the inevitable signs of busy mum life showing on my face, my skin was crying out for some TLC.

What I loved most was that the treatment delivered instant results without any downtime. My skin looked fresher, healthier and noticeably more luminous afterwards, while feeling incredibly smooth to the touch. Now I must admit as they Dermaplane your face, I was a little worried but the therapist explained it was to help makeup sit  beautifully, skin care to better permeate your skin and that there was no risk of the hair growing back thicker on your face.

Young LDN takes a bespoke approach to skincare, tailoring treatments to suit individual concerns rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. This was great as my problem areas included combination skin and some horrible blackheads. My therapist was knowledgeable and welcoming, making the entire experience feel both luxurious and approachable. Which is really what you want when you’re carving out some much needed ME time.

For fellow mums wondering whether they should take an hour for themselves, consider this your sign to do it. Motherhood can make self-care feel indulgent, but it shouldn’t be. Sometimes, a little time away to recharge leaves you returning home feeling like the very best version of yourself. It’s not something to feel guilty about and you won’t regret it.

Overall, The Glass Skin Facial isn’t just about glowing skin… it really is about pressing pause for a moment and giving yourself that much needed break. Thanks to Nanna’s help, I was able to do just that, returning home feeling refreshed, relaxed and positively radiant. I can’t think of a better way to spend 45 child free minutes. Now if only Nanna would move to London so I can get one every week!
