A Month of Mexican-Inspired Chocolate Indulgence: Tony’s Chocolonely Takes Over Wahaca’s Dessert Menu

This Spring, the dessert menu at Wahaca is getting a gloriously OTT takeover. For a limited time only, the Mexican-inspired restaurant is partnering withTony’s Chocolonely, the chocolate company that exists to end exploitation in cocoa, to create four playful new desserts, plus a cocktail designed to dial up the decadence and bring a little extra joy to the end of every meal. The special menu runs from 25th March to 28th April at Wahaca’s restaurants across the UK, with the collaboration reflecting the values shared by both brands around ethical sourcing and sustainability.

Taking a turn from savoury to sweet, tacos are at the heart of the Tony’s collab. Crispy tortillas are rolled in cinnamon sugar and filled with unapologetic deliciousness – these are so much more than your average sweet treats. Guests can choose between two limited-edition dessert tacos, created using Tony’s Chocolonely:
Tony’s ‘Everything’ Taco (£8.95) – filled with vanilla ice cream, rich chocolate sauce, candied pecans, honeycomb and a generous chocolate chunk for good measure. A raucous riot of texture and flavour!

The Chocolate Cherry Taco (£8.95) –  frosty, fruity and fabulous, combining cherry ripple ice cream with dark chocolate, topped with raspberry-dusted cream and a glossy glacé cherry.
And because no Mexican dessert menu would be complete without them, Wahaca’s much-loved churros are also getting the Tony’s treatment. Crisp, golden Mexican doughnuts are served with a selection of sensational sides for dipping, including:

  • Straight-Up Chocolate (£6.95) – the classic, with rich, velvety chocolate sauce for purists.
  • ‘Everything’ Dipping (£7.50) – for those who want it all: chocolate sauce and shavings alongside candied pecans and honeycomb for dipping, dunking and sprinkling.

Pair your choice of dessert with the Tony’s Tipsy Chocco-Latte (£10.95) – a decadent blend of Kahlúa, vodka and chocolate cream, served over ice with a rim of chocolate shavings and garnished with a suitably seasonal chocolate egg. It’s smooth, sumptuous and totally indulgent.

And if all that wasn’t sweet enough, diners enjoying the limited-edition menu will also have the chance to win a year’s supply of Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate and a coveted churros gold card in a special prize draw. Visitors to Wahaca can simply scan the QR code on the dessert menu to enter.
Wahaca co-founder Thomasina Miers commented: “We wanted to create something that was both delicious and fun – the kind of pudding that makes you ask what it is that your neighbour is having and if you can have one too.  Working with Tony’s Chocolonely felt like a natural fit – they pride themselves on sourcing ingredients responsibly, but in a light-hearted, joyful way. We have loved designing such tantalising chocolate creations for the Easter weeks.”
Nicola Matthews, Head of Marketing UK&I at Tony’s Chocolonely added: “We love that by partnering with Wahaca, we’re bringing an extra dose of fun to their menu this Easter. We’re super excited for diners to enjoy our Tony’s Takeover. Wahaca is a great fit with our ethical and sustainable core values at Tony’s too – partnerships like these show how collaboration can drive both impact and deliver indulgence, proving that chocolate can be both damn tasty and a force for change.”
