A summer of Free events brought to you by Lipton Ice Tea

This Summer Lipton Ice Tea launched Daybreakers: a series of free events in London to get you excited in the Mornings!

We were thrilled to attend the first event, which kicked off last week Friday at The Sky Garden, which boasts beautiful views of London. We were greeted by a live performance of up-and-coming singer songwriter Lizzy Spit, whilst sipping on Lipton Ice Tea and taking in the views.

Shortly after being treated to an intimate performance with Irish folk duo Hudson Taylor, which of course we all went wild for, mid-set, the duo ditched their mics and jumped off stage to give us an exclusive off-mic performance, greatly received by us all!

We caught up with Hudson Taylor at the end of the gig, for a quick interview, to find out what the boys have been up to and what they have in store for us:

1. ON STAGE YOU SAID YOU MOVED TO BRIGHTON, ANY PARTICULAR REASON WHY YOU MOVED TO BRIGHTON?
We have been living in London for three years and we wanted to go somewhere a bit more inspiring. Although London is very inspiring as well and we’ve written a lot of songs here, we just fancied a change. It’s a bit cheaper in Brighton, which meant we could live together plus we like the music vibe there.

2. BEING BROTHERS, YOU MUST ARGUE A BIT?
Nah not really, we are pretty diplomatic. We can have disagreements especially in a working environment, one of us may love a song and the other may hate it.  Our last argument was probably over food, which was generally down to tiredness

3. DO YOU EVER HAVE YOUR BROTHERS ANS SISTERS COME SEE YOU AT GIGS IN IRELAND?
All the time, we actually had our little sister come sing with us on stage at the Olympia theatre, she sings and plays the guitar, so that was a lot of fun.

4. FESTIVAL SEASON IS UPON US, SO WHAT FESTIVALS DO YOU HAVE COMING UP?
We are doing some in the South West: Gold Coast Oceanfest, Broadmasters Festival and in July we are doing Benicassim Festival in Spain, in fact quite a few in Europe which is pretty cool, the last two years we did a lot in the UK, so it’s good to tour Europe this Summer.

5. DO YOU FIND A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH THE BRITISH AUDIENCE AND THE IRISH AUDIENCE?
Quite a big difference yeah, not in any good or bad way, just in the way that if any band plays in their home country, they will be received with welcome arms, not that your not received well in the UK but Ireland has a particular reputation for being more giving especially if you’re from there.
