Antillean Review

In April, Onin.London visited the Pan-Caribbean restaurant and cocktail bar Antillean for a delicious brunch! The brunch is available every Saturday from 12-3pm and is inspired by the roaming flavours of The Antilles islands.

At only
£35 per person, the three-course brunch created by Chef Patron and long-time Caribbean nomad Michael Hanbury is decently priced.

The menu is a fusion of flavours from Dutch to Chinese as Antillean’s brunch menu reflects the vibrant multi-cultural influences of idyllic archipelago, The Antilles.

Oh did we forget the brunch menu price also includes a welcome cocktail! It went down a treat for sure.

To start with, we had a delicious sharing platter which included Mackerel Escovitch and Julienne Pickled Vegetables, and Watermelon & Heritage Beetroot Salad. The prawns were the real winner here though!

Both of us choose to have the Ribeye Steak with Mojo Dressing and Yuca Fries for our mains and we both couldn’t have been happier. If you haven’t tried Yuca fries… you’re missing out! Theres plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for non meat eaters too!

We were incredibly full by the time dessert came out and it was another sharing platter of delicious Caribbean inspired desserts including Carrot Cake with Pineapple and Guinness Punch Ice-Cream… but we still managed to enjoy the sweet treats

We loved the food, drinks the live music and the dj during our visit at Antillean. It was the perfect warm up spot before my friend and I ventured out to explore Waterloo and Southwark.

Before we go though, definitely check out the curated drinks menu. Paying homage to the Caribbean’s notorious reputation for rum, the restaurant offers an extensive selection of over 100 distinctive types from the islands and around the world. Check out the ‘Windward Old Fashioned’ with Pineapple Plantation Rum and ‘West Indian Pace Battery’ with Saint James Blanc Rum!
