The Resident Covent Garden Review

Onin.London has stayed at a few of The Resident’s hotels and it’s safe to say they’re a firm favourite!

Our latest stay was at The Resident Covent Garden – which has recently been named as the Best Hotel in the UK according to the 2022 Trip Advisor awards.

The Resident Covent Garden tucked away just off The Strand and is designed to allow guests to live like a resident of the local area (hence the name), and the staff have a wealth of local knowledge and expertise to share with guests.

The 57 room hotel is housed within a beautifully restored Edwardian building and spread over six floors. The rooms range from from Standard Double through to Junior Suite. Our room was really beautiful and we throughly enjoyed posing in our soft plush robes and out on our cute little balcony. But we couldn’t spend all evening relaxing in our room, it was time to explore what Covent Garden has to offer.

All guests are encouraged to eat out at local independent restaurants and bars, while in-room mini kitchens provide a fridge, microwave, sink, kettle, Nespresso machine and full sets of crockery for cosy nights in. While we didn’t get a chance to on the evening, the hotel have a special with Mr Foggs Society Of Exploration for those who are staying at  the hotel can visit and get a free welcome drink on arrival for guests.

We had a great nights sleep and enjoyed exploring Covent Garden while we were there… even managed to find some hidden gems while we were visiting.

We also love that The Resident had a  non-profit initiative where they offered 2,020 rooms to ICU nurses, who worked on the frontline of the pandemic, as a thank you for their tremendous efforts, as part of the ‘Nights on Us’ campaign.
