Authentic Spanish Food and Terrace Vibes at The Campaner
Based down near the Chelsea Barracks, you’ll find The Campaner, a beautifully designed and spacious, Spanish-inspired restaurant.
With influences from Barcelona’s pumping and eclectic evening culture, the space is renowned for its delicious tapas dishes and sprawling outdoor terrace, which is perfect for al-fresco dining this summer.
With an authentic and seasonal menu, jam packed with UK produce, The Campaner is the ideal place to enjoy every day. From a steaming morning coffee, to leisurely lunches and dinners.
The menu offers a range of starters, breads, cold and hot sharing plates and main dishes including paella style sharing dishes, and dishes from the Josper Grill Oven. Making the most of the full menu, we opted for a selection of Oysters to start, served with lemon and sherry vinaigrette which were delicious and fresh.

The starters were perfectly accompanied with an Aperol Spritz and a fruity Cosmopolitan, and later with a yummy and full-bodied Spanish Rioja. Next up, was the Pan Con Tomate – one of my favourite dishes to order in Spain due to the freshness of tomatoes. No need to worry here, as the tomatoes were equally as vibrant and fresh as they come in Spain.
A selection of cold starters were ordered including a Seafood “salpicon” salad and “ajoblanco”, as well as Charred Baby Gem with piquillo peppers, anchovies and piparra dressing. Both were the perfect accompaniment to a balmy summer’s evening.
On the hot side, we went for the Iberian Ham Croquettes, the Queen Scallop with avocado mousse, lime and pickled onion and the Patatas Bravas. The latter is an absolute must order. The potatoes are very thinly sliced and deep fried until super crispy – smothered in mayo and tomato – perhaps some of the best potatoes I have ever had!

Alongside, we also ordered the Beef Fillet which was melt in the mouth perfection, and the Grilled Octopus which was also very tender from the Josper Grill. A range of sauces are also available including Romesco, Brava and Chimichurri which complement all the dishes perfectly.
The restaurant is situated in a pretty and quiet square, across from an ornately decorated church, which actually reminded me of a Spanish-style church. Alongside the twinkling fairy lights, you can trick yourself into feeling like you’re on a little holiday of your own.
New to the offering also is a perfect summer pairing: Tinto de Verano a refreshing blend of red wine and lemon soda with a flavourful Ham croquette or “Longaniza” tapas (Spanish sausage) for £12 per person. Guests can enjoy the refreshing taste of Spain’s favourite summer drink combined with delicious tapas al-fresco style on The Campaner summer terrace. This special happy hour offers the ideal setting to unwind with friends, enjoy delectable bites, and sip on the quintessential summer drink. Whether you’re a Tinto de Verano aficionado or new to this classic Spanish beverage, The Campaner’s new happy hour is not to be missed!
