Brasserie of Light Review
I’m always looking for somewhere to have a good catch up with a girl friend, and Brasserie of Light is perfect for those occasions.
Brasserie of Light is located in Selfridges on Oxford Street, but it feels worlds away from the buzz of the shopping street. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the floor to ceiling windows, giving the space great natural light, then we spotted the Pegasus on the wall; a real standout!
This summer, Brasserie of Light has transformed into a world of 1920s glamour and golden-age indulgence with A Roaring Summer, a dazzling seasonal celebration inspired by the iconic spirit of The Great Gatsby, in partnership with Mumm champagne.
From 8th July, Brasserie of Light brings together an indulgent set menu, exclusive cocktails and vibrant live entertainment, all within the restaurant’s stunning surroundings.
At just £24.95 for two courses and £29.95 for three courses, the Roaring Summer is great value, without compromising on taste. Whilst there was a Roaring Summer cocktail menu, we both ordered the Phoebe from the regular drinks menu; a blend of Lychee, Absolut Vanilla, Lemon and Rhubarb and Raspberry Tonic.
To start, we share the Bang Bang Chicken Salad and the Tuna Tacos from the nibbles section. Both were really summery and fresh, and I loved the dressing on the salad. For mains, I opted for the Cumin and Oregano Chicken and my friend ordered a Sirloin Steak with peppercorn sauce. The chicken was packed full of flavour and the steak was juicy, and they were paired perfectly with our sides of Truffle Mashed Potato and Fries.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the Chocolate Bubbles; a beautifully presented dish of Dark Chocolate, Dark Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Brownie, Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Pearls. It was indulgent but not too sweet, so was the perfect end to the meal!
The Roaring Summer menu is available until 3rd September.
