by Chloe ‘Fish Free Fridays’ vegan Fish’n’chips review

Originating in NYC, by Chloe has earned itself the name as one of the best vegan fast-food joints in London, with its 100% plant-based offering, attracting praise from vegans and meat eaters alike.

We never need a reason to visit by Chloe, but the launch of their new ‘Fish Free Fridays’ was the perfect reason to pop into their Tower Bridge branch to fill up on their plant based goodness. Originally just available in selected sites, by Chloe have now launched their infamous vegan Fish’N’Chips option across all their outlets in a bid to help raise awareness of the immediate need to reduce human impact on the oceans.

Unmistakable black and white strips marking the outside with wicker hanging chairs in the jazzy inside, by Chloe spaces always ooze cool New York style. Ready to completely over-indulge we ordered the Fish’N’Chips with a side of their staple Mac N Cheese and Oh So Fancy Fries with a big ‘ole cookie to finish it off. An ambitious order but we were up for the challenge.

I could literally eat these Fish’N’Chips every day and not get bored. It’s one of those meals that if you go in expecting it to taste like the real thing you will likely be disappointed but as someone who hasn’t eaten fish since I was a teenager it is an absolute dream. Super fresh slabs of tofu wrapped up in nori before being deep fried, it’s the right mix of wholesome and decadent. The chips were super chunky and deliciously crispy, without being oily, absolute winner. I usually can’t stand mushy peas, they really weird me out but I decided to give these a go and was happy I did; fresh peas with a touch of mint, this boujee version is definitely more to my liking. Mac N Cheese and the cookie totally finished us off, leaving us completely stuffed and a little bit food drunk.

If you’re on a plant-based diet, you need to go here, if you’re a meat eater…. You still need to go here. Delicious, well priced food in a stylish setting, the ‘Fish Free Fridays’ offers an extra incentive for checking this awesome vegan joint out. On Fridays two can dine-in on Fridays for £14.50 for Fish’N’Chips plus a drink each, or 10% off one dish, so what is there to lose?
