Cahoots Post Office Opens
Cahoots Post Office located at Borough Market opens Friday 11th October. Cahoots is a vibrant network of 1940s themed bars in London. The expansion follows the success of Cahoots Underground and Cahoots Ticket Hall, both located in Soho.
My friend and I went to Cahoots Underground a few years ago and loved the decor and the attention to details. Cahoots Post Office lived up to the expectation we had in our head of a fun 1940s bar equally well decorated. Your eyes wander over everything. There’s special deliveries and mix of items on the curved walls from a bicycle to packaged food. The Borough Bulletin is great fun to read and take photos with.
Cahoots Post Office feels more spacious than Cahoots Underground as there’s a ground floor and mezzanine. The Dead Letter Depot is a treasure trove of mail that never reached its final destination. In Tea Corner, repurposed telephone switchboards let you eavesdrop on overheard gossip and top-secret dispatches. We sat in a quiet area with sandbags and Home Guard helmets and jackets..
A pneumatic cocktail delivery system will send drinks whizzing through air-powered tubes overhead. There was a brief demonstration on the night but it wasn’t being used so we sadly couldn’t get our cocktails this way. We do think it’s a clever and fun way to deliver drinks to select tables.
As it was just a first look session, there was one whisky cocktail on offer. Fitting into the theme, it was served in a vintage milk bottle. Like other Cahoots venues we expect the drinks will be served in old mugs, hip flasks and tins and have ingredients from the pantry, allotment or foraged in the ruins of 1940s London.
Cahoots is great for meeting friends for drinks, a date and they also have venue hire for 20-250 guest depending on location.
Cahoots Post Office is located on the edge of Borough Market, and a super quick walk from London Bridge. Opening hours are Monday to Wednesday 4pm- midnight, Thursday and Friday 3pm to midnight and weekends 2pm to midnight.
