Pop-Up India comes to Proud East!

The team at Proud East will be bringing a real flavour of India to Haggerston this summer! They’ve teamed up with marathoner-turned-restauranteur Tania Rahman’s Chit Chaat Chai to bring the taste of India’s street food stalls to the canal-side venue.

Chit Chaat Chai will take over the kitchen at Pop-Up India, serving guests their signature chaat plates:
Bombay Bhel, a beach time classic of puffed rice, potatoes, onions and chickpeas
the Pav strikes back with the Darth Vada Pav burger – spiced potato patties served in a soft brioche bun
their house-favourite hakka wings, that are spicy with a subtle hint of sweetness
the Keema Pav, a carnivore’s delight – spicy lamb mince served with soft brioche pav buns

Proud East is also delighted to be partnering with Kingfisher, India’s No.1 brewery, who will be providing the perfect accompaniment to delicious Eastern cooking. A celebration of India, through events, workshops, art, music and films, with live sitar players at weekends and Nomad Cinema screening the best of Bollywood; not to mention Kingfisher’s Tuk-Tuk Photo Booth.

Launching on July 6th, Pop-Up India will run to September 24th. Join Proud East for our very own ‘Indian Summer’ with warm days, long evenings and an unmissable dining experience bringing the flavours of India to the banks of Regent’s Canal.
