Canopy by Hilton London Hilton Review

Onin.London stayed at the beautiful new Canopy by Hilton London City, the UK’s first Canopy by Hilton hotel. Set within the multi-million-pound Minories development close to Aldgate station, 340-room hotel provides the perfect base for travellers or those wanting a staycation to immerse themselves in London’s lively East End.  

Upon entry into the hotel, you will be as amazed as we were as it’s absolutely beautiful. The hotel’s interior design reflects the rich culture of the area’s historic textile industry and is inspired by the Huguenot silk weavers who settled in Spitalfields in the 17th century. Also to honour Whitechapel’s contemporary arts scene, artwork created by neighbourhood artists adorns the public spaces throughout the hotel. 

Upon entering my room, I was gobsmacked with the view of the gorgeous London skyline and how lovely the room was. We were staying in one of the suites priced at £401 a night with breakfast included and it was the perfect way to spend a Saturday night.

Highlights of the room included the blackout curtains, extremely comfy bed, great lighting and fantastic shower. The bathroom amenities were top notch as well and The Apivita Shine Revitalizing Greek Honey and Orange Shampoo and Conditioner was some of the best I’ve ever used at a hotel.

For dinner we ate at the Freedom Cafè as the Penny Squares Restaurant doesn’t open for dinner for another couple of months. It’s definitely aimed at more light meals but we did enjoy the Corn Crusted Chicken Bites and Mac and Cheese Croquettes. Guests can also enjoy daily tastings at Freedom Café, featuring appetisers and drinks from local distilleries, craft brewers and wineries.

After a restful night’s sleep, we ate Breakfast in the Penny Squares Restaurant. My friend had the Avocado Toast while I went for the Full English Breakfast. It was a great way to start the day.
