Blue Tit Review

Starting on World Sustainability Day (Thursday 28th October) sustainable salon collective, Blue Tit and the first climate positive vodka brand Sapling, combined their eco-friendly credentials to create the UK’s most sustainable salon experience.

Blue Tit and Sapling have created two sustainable cocktails including an exclusive Sapling Winter Spritz and the universally loved Bloody Mary – to give you an eco-boost in the morning.

Available at all of Blue Tit’s ten neighbourhood salons in London, customers can get their locks pampered whilst sipping a seasonal cocktail – launching with the Sapling Winter Spritz – a delicious combo of Sapling vodka with rhubarb and ginger soda.

Blue Tit is the UK and Europe’s first salon collective to achieve BCorp, a certification given only to businesses committed to purpose beyond profit. All ten Blue Tit salons are equipped with Take Oway refill stations to minimise waste and prioritise up-cycling, they reduce 1,350,000 litres of water wastage a year using EcoHeads, use biodegradable hair towels and recycle over 95% of its waste.

Home grown vodka brand Sapling uses local ingredients to reduce transport emissions. Their aim is to plant 1 million trees by 2027 and with every bottle bought, a tree is planted. Each and every bottle contains a unique code that tells you where the tree was planted and more about the planting project. Clean, creamy, and smooth with a touch of sweetness, Sapling is not only delicious but climate positive too.

Arriving at the Brixton Salon on 15th January 2022, I was greeted by the delightful Ricky who talked me through what he wanted to do with my hair. I was only coming for a blow dry but it was great how he talked me through the different blow dry styles and we finally choose one that would highlight my natural style but create a “Hollywood” style that would turn heads.

While drinking my Sapling Winter Spritz, Ricky (a fellow South Australian which I was so delighted to find out) turned my hair into a masterpiece.

I can’t express in words how much I loved this blow dry and I won’t bore you dear readers with the 100’s of photos I took to send to my friends and family. I left the salon, feeling like a breath of fresh air and a smile on my face… what more could you ask for.
