Cha Cha x Sister Jane Restaurant review

It really was love at first site with this one. Located on the ground floor of the Sister Jane Townhouse in Golborne Road, Notting Hill, walking into Cha Cha x Sister Jane was like walking straight into a 70’s Hollywood film. Burnt orange crushed velvet furniture and mirrored tables, an island bar with a giant hanging floral piece hanging overhead and fringing absolutely everywhere.

We opted for nuts and olives and a bottle of prosecco to start, the perfect Sunday afternoon decadence. Ice cold and served in a beautiful vintage inspired coupe, just how I like my bubbles, we were off to a good start. A varied menu of bold European cuisine with a Latin twist, small plates and bites are separated into the sub headings of ‘Cha Cha Bites, vegetables, meat and sweet’, we opted to sample the complete selection of vegetable options; quinoa salad, beetroot carpaccio burrata, chargrilled hispi cabbage, tender stem broccoli and new potatoes.

Matching the décor of the room, each plate oozed rich colours and stylish placement. Super fresh vegetables and creative flavours, this is one of those non-vegi restaurants that do the vegi part of their offering as well as their meat and fish, which is a bit of a rarity. We finished everything off but there was 2 clear favourites; The burrata, served with heirloom tomato on sourdough dough bread was light, creamy and decadent all at once, and the cabbage which we ordered on a whim, which was a real surprise. Charred to perfection, with a sweetness from the raisins complimented by the bite of the goat’s curd, they managed to make a vegetable we actively avoid a complete delight.

Before we left the lovely host gave us a tour of the building, an absolute labyrinth of a space. Upstairs a large open shop space with incredible mirrored changing rooms, downstairs a garden space with fairground horses and other crazy décor, make sure you ask for a tour when you go in, its a real delight. Great food, incredible décor and lovely staff, I cannot recommend this one enough as a Notting Hill hotspot.
