Chinese New Year At Ping Pong Dim Sum Review

To celebrate the Year of the Rat, Ruby Wu has created a menu of special dishes that will be available from 14 January – 10 March with Chinese New Year falling on Saturday 25 January 2020.

We were definitely looking forward to trying the new Chinese New Year dishes which included the Duck hoisin bun, the Spicy seitan and vegetables dumpling (vegan) and the  Chicken and orange dumpling. All the new dishes came in the very reasonably priced £24.95 Golden Banquet, so it was an easy choice to  have that for dinner. As always Ping Pong did not disappoint! All the dishes were extremely tasty and left us with smiles on our faces.

Ping Pong has also create a Wish Upon a Cherry Cocktail with Finlandia Vodka, Cherry blossom syrup, triple sec, Maraschino liqueur, sake, then finished with a squeeze of lemon and garnished with cherries. A percentage of the proceeds from every cocktail sold will go to Make A Wish Foundation. Guests will also be able to order a cocktail tree of the Wish Upon a Cherry cocktails which has ten cocktails in and is perfect for groups and an instagramable moment!

With each cocktail guests will also be given a label which they can write their wish on for the year ahead and hang on a “Wishing Tree” which will be in each restaurant. One wish will be granted to the value of £500. Everyone who enters a wish will win a prize by heading to the website on the tag, all prizes will redeemable at the Ping Pong restaurants. I wished to be able to travel to Australia to meet my new niece so fingers crossed there!

Our banquet ended with Ruby Wu’s new dessert, a Chocolate pancake with raspberry coulis – soft pancakes filled with warm melted chocolate served with raspberry coulis. It was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect portion size to end the meal with.

What are you waiting for? Go visit Ping Pong and celebrate this Chinese New Year!
