Cocotte Review

After putting down our cutlery at the end of dinner, my partner looked down at his empty plate and declared our meal at Cocotte ‘one of the best meals he has ever eaten’ – I’d be tempted to leave the review there, but will give you some more info as to why he made such a bold claim!

We arrived at the Queen’s Park branch and immediately loved the casual decor and atmosphere in the restaurant; with it’s warm lighting and friendly service.

They had a lovely looking cocktail menu but as we were driving we both had a soft drink, and soon after ordered the Chicken & Truffle Croquettes and Crispy Pesto Halloumi. Both dishes were so delicious, it made us really excited for the mains!

I have to warn you – you will want to eat EVERYTHING on the menu, and order ALL the sides – so make sure you’re hungry, or visit with a group where you can share a few dishes.

We ordered the Quarter Rotisserie Chicken with Chicken Jus sauce, Chicken Schnitzel and Rib Eye Steak served with fries (which I’m told was up there with the best steaks he has ever tasted!). I was so indecisive with the sides and wanted to try a bit of everything, so we had the Truffle Mac and Cheese, Mash and Tenderstem Broccoli. Yes, we ordered too much, but no, I have no regrets. The flavours were all amazing, and everything was perfectly cooked. I wish I could’ve tried even more dishes, but definitely didn’t have any space; we even had to take some home at the end!

I also wish I had space to try one of their desserts – just another excuse to go back again (not that we need one!)

Cocotte has branches in Queen’s Park, Shoreditch, Richmond, Parson’s Green, South Kensington and Notting Hill, and I’m already checking my diary to find a date to visit one of the others!
