A Special Evening at Dalloway Terrace
Somewhere like Dalloway Terrace is exactly why I love London, you can be right in the middle of Oxford Street and still stumble across somewhere that feels completely hidden, peaceful and tranquil. We went for my friend’s birthday, and honestly, within minutes of sitting down on the terrace, it felt like we’d left Zone 1 entirely.
It’s a beautiful space, full of greenery, softly lit, and surprisingly cosy thanks to the heaters. Even on a cooler evening in Sprint, it worked. There’s something about the spot that just makes you settle in and relax straight away, which is exactly what you want when you’re celebrating.
We started with a seafood chowder, which was rich and comforting in that proper, satisfying way, and then the semi-cured hand-dived scallops with cucumber, citrus and shiso. The scallops were a real highlight, super fresh, light, and just really well balanced – the ruby red colour of the sauce really made it pop!

For mains, we shared (which was 100% the right decision). The crab and prawn linguine was generous and full of flavour, with this silky tomato bisque and a bit of chilli butter running through it, it had a slight kick but nothing overpowering. Then the rigatoni of venison ragù, which was deeper, richer, and slightly unexpected in the best way. The juniper berries and hint of dark chocolate gave it this warmth and depth that made it feel really special.
We probably didn’t need dessert, but it was a birthday, so obviously we did. The rhubarb crème brûlée was spot on. Nicely sharp from the rhubarb, creamy underneath, and that classic crack on top. Exactly what you want. They also bought my friend a candlelit dessert which was a lovely touch!
At that point, we could have called it a night, but neither of us was quite ready. So we headed downstairs to The Bloomsbury Club Bar, which felt like a completely different world. Darker, moodier, live jazz playing – it had a really great atmosphere without feeling too busy or overwhelming.

The menu leans into a slightly theatrical, literary-inspired concept, which feels fitting given the Bloomsbury setting. Drinks are creative without being overcomplicated, each one clearly thought through in terms of flavour as much as presentation. There’s a nice balance between reworked classics and more unexpected combinations, so whether you’re in the mood for something familiar or something a bit different, you’re covered.
That’s probably what stood out most, it wasn’t just a good meal, it felt like a full night out without having to think about where to go next. All that was missing was checking into the hotel that all the venues are part of! Maybe next time…
