Florentine Review

???????????????????????????????Florentine Restaurant & Bar offers all-day dining near London’s South Bank. Londoner’s can have a relaxed dining experience with great food, welcoming staff and of course great cocktails. We hot footed it down to taste some of the amazing food on offer. Before we kick off with the review, we have to let you know that Florentine offers an all-day breakfast with their specialty of Ostrich Egg. This unique dish includes an entire egg fried or scrambled accompanied with generous helpings of Portobello mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon and sausages. This will set you back £90, but it’s a great way to have an unusual breakfast with a group of friends.

On to the food! For our starters we shared the platter of cured meats and the fried squid with a lemon mayo. The starters came with rustic bread with a rosemary and sea salt topping; we were pleasantly full after just our starters. For my main I tried the amazing grilled sea bass which was accompanied with spinach, roasted vine tomatoes and Amalfi lemon. The sea bass tasted amazing and was melt in your mouth, the flavours from the spinach were great and I accompanied this with mash potato. My friend had lamb shank and it melted off the bone, she ate in total silence and that speaks for itself, ‘good food causes great silence’.Florentine - PWF - 0017

The dessert was the icing on the cake (pardon the pun). I tried the crème brulee the sugared topping was perfect and hearing the small crack as I tucked in was the first indication that this was going to be a great dessert. My friend tried the blueberry cheesecake and again ate in silence, a great indication for a good dessert. All in all Florentine’s menus was a success. The live band and great waiting staff added to the ambience and made for a perfect Thursday evening. Florentine boasts a suitably stylish backdrop of beautifully upholstered charcoal leather banquette seating, comfy leather sling back chairs, hefty granite-style tables, floating halo-lit ceiling lights and a lavish destination bar area, design by Digital Space.
