Green People – Sensitive Skin Month

Green People

Sensitive skin is something that affects up to 50% of the population, yet people seem to be unaware of which products will suit their delicate skin. As a beauty therapist and a beauty writer, I am regularly asked for recommendations for products and methods to combat skin sensitivities and was very excited when I heard that Green People had created ‘Sensitive Skin Month’ throughout April.

If you are not familiar with the brand, Green People was establish in 1997 after Sandra (the daughter of Charlotte Vohtz, Green People’s founder) suffered from severe eczema and skin sensitivities. Green People are a vegan company, donate 10% of their net profit to charity and use organic ingredients wherever possible.

Green People products are not tested on animals and never contain: Sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, parabens, lanolin, phthalates, propylene glycol, alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol), harsh foaming agents, synthetic fragrances, irritating emulsifiers, PABA-sunscreen, petrochemicals, colourants, urea, DEA, TEA or PEGs.

For Sensitive Skin Month, I have been testing three products from their sensitive range: Cleanser & Make-up Remover, Rejuvenating Eye Cream and Anti-Ageing 24-Hour Cream. The necessities of a good skincare regime.

Green People

Green People’s sensitive cleanser contains Shea Butter which softens and soothes the skin as it cleanses and removes make-up. This cleanser has no scent and is even gentle enough to remove eye make-up. I have tried a few cleansers in the past which claim to be gentle enough for removing eye make-up on sensitive skins, but really aren’t. I have been left with very pink and incredibly sore, puffy eyes in the past. To my relief, Green People’s sensitive cleanser honestly removes all traces of stubborn mascara without any discomfort at all. To use, apply the product in small circular movements and remove with warm water. (Please note that if the water is too hot or too cold, this can upset very sensitive skins.)

Green People

The sensitive rejuvenating eye cream glides onto the delicate eye area with ease. It has a very light texture which makes it very wearable during the day and night but also leaves the skin feeling very soft and nurtured.
