Live Vibe Generations
Sadlers Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1R 4TN
Saturday 6th February, 7.30pm
The final part of Hakeem Onibudo and Impact Dance’s 20 year anniversary celebration culminates in 14 companies, whose work spans the last two decades, coming together to perform in the heart of London’s West End. A fantastic night of creative and high energy dance from crews and companies ranging from London to Birmingham and Northern Ireland to North Africa.
A real celebration of hip hop, street and African-inspired dance presented in the unique LIVEVIBE style.
The show will incorporate the work Hakeem has been doing in North Africa, with Future4Youth, (a partnership between Impact Dance and ACE (African Cultural Exchange)), exploring the connections between hip-hop dance and dance of the African diaspora with youth companies from across the UK. As well as breakdancing project – Say It Through Breakdancing – an initiative set up by the British Council and aimed at taking the breakdancing art-form beyond the battle spirit in North Africa.
North African dance group, North Africa Dynamics will be coming over to the UK especially for the Sadler’s Wells show. This video shows some of the work Hakeem and the B-Boys have been working on – https://vimeo.com/152161548
