Kitty Fishers Mayfair
Tucked away in the historic Shepherd Market area of Mayfair, Kitty Fisher’s offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of central London. This charming, intimate dining room and bar—named after the infamous courtesan Kitty Fisher—perfectly blends history, sophistication, and comfort. Our recent visit left us thoroughly enchanted, and it’s safe to say that this restaurant is a hidden gem.
From the moment we stepped through the door, the restaurant’s atmosphere immediately struck us as unique. The space is small, but rather than feeling cramped, it feels cosy and homely. The dim lighting, plush seating, and warm décor invite you to relax, making it an ideal spot for a long, leisurely meal. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed but instead are encouraged to take your time and savour both the food and the ambiance. We found ourselves lingering for four hours, chatting and enjoying the atmosphere long after our meal had ended. The staff played a large part in this relaxed experience—attentive but never intrusive, they were consistently friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
We began our meal with a couple of appetisers, both of which were a testament to the restaurant’s ability to highlight seasonal ingredients and elevate them to something extraordinary. The white asparagus was a highlight, served with a delicate sauce that allowed the natural flavours of the asparagus to shine. Asparagus can sometimes be overlooked on a menu, but here, it was prepared to perfection—fresh, tender, and subtly enhanced by the accompanying ingredients.
Next, we tried the pumpkin dish speacial, which was equally impressive. The pumpkin was served in a rich, soup-like sauce that was velvety smooth and flavourful, with just the right amount of sweetness. The texture of the pumpkin was soft and velvety, and the sauce it came with added a layer of depth that made this dish truly memorable.

For our main, we shared the Belted Galloway Wing Rib with Green Peppercorn & Parsley Butter. At £120.00 for two, it’s definitely a splurge, but in my opinion, worth it. This dish was a showstopper. The quality of the meat was exceptional—succulent, tender, and cooked to perfection. The green peppercorn and parsley butter was a lovely addition, complementing the richness of the rib without overpowering it. Accompanied by crispy potatoes and a mixed leaf salad, this dish was satisfying and indulgent without feeling too heavy. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and the salad offered a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meat.
To accompany our meal, we chose the house white wine, which was served in a carafe. It was light, crisp, and beautifully balanced—an excellent choice that paired wonderfully with the dishes we had chosen. It’s clear that Kitty Fisher’s takes pride in curating a well-rounded, thoughtful wine list that complements its menu.
Kitty Fisher’s location near Green Park makes it an easy choice for a pre- or post-theater meal, or simply as a destination for a leisurely dinner in a central, historic area. The proximity to Mayfair also means that the restaurant attracts a sophisticated crowd, but the warmth of the venue makes it welcoming to all. There’s a sense of both tradition and modernity at play here—traditional British flavours with a contemporary twist, and a timelessly chic setting that still feels intimate and approachable.
What truly sets Kitty Fisher’s apart, however, is the level of attention to detail. From the ambiance to the food to the service, everything is carefully considered and executed with precision. There’s a sense that this is a restaurant that doesn’t try to impress with gimmicks or excessive flair, but instead focuses on delivering high-quality, thoughtfully prepared dishes in a setting that encourages guests to relax and savor the experience.
Kitty Fisher’s in Mayfair offers an experience that goes beyond a simple meal—it’s an immersion in a cosy, historic, and welcoming atmosphere that allows you to slow down and truly appreciate the culinary delights on offer. Whether you’re a local or just visiting London, this charming restaurant is undoubtedly worth a visit.
