KOKUM: An Indian Jewel in London’s Culinary Crown 

KOKUM (56 – 80 East Dulwich Road, London, SE22 9AX) opened in July 2023 to rave reviews across the board, quickly establishing itself as one of London’s most talked about Indian restaurants. Never ones to stand still, two years on, KOKUM is excited to welcome the next chapter in their journey via some flavoursome tweaks and exciting additions to their dining experience.

New for high summer and early autumn is KOKUM’s revised menu which builds on their most popular picks whilst maintaining a succinct menu that is easy to navigate and includes a trusted selection of classic dishes. Building on the success of their grilled starters, KOKUM has expanded this part of the menu and introduced a handful of new additions including The Chicken Chop and Kasundi Prawns (mustard & yellow chilli marinated freshwater prawns, tomato, chilli & garlic chutney). Curries remain a focal point with the Makrut Lime Prawn and Malvani Fish Curry providing a refreshing addition. The Biryani’s have also been updated – choose from Chicken Tikka or Wild Mushroom and complete your meal with a choice of breads and sides varying from Indian Salad to their best-selling Tandoor Roasted Aubergine. 

Also, new to their offering are KOKUM’s BBQ’s. Available Thursday to Sunday on their outside terrace, a selection of marinated dishes are all grilled to order. 

Proud of their drinks selection, KOKUM has worked hard to create a cocktail list worth calling an Uber for – Pink Peppercorn Old Fashioned or Chocolate Orange Negroni make for ideal aperitif or night cap.  All can be enjoyed whilst seated at the bar which runs along the side of the front section of the restaurant providing an ideal spot to peruse the menu. 

An 86-seater restaurant complete with a private dining room for 24 covers, and outside terrace, KOKUM is a chic and contemporary space where an earthy colour palette is interspersed with pops of colour reminiscent of India’s vibrant landscapes. 

Located in one of South East London’s most verdant neighbourhoods, KOKUM is the local Indian we all wish we had on our doorstep.
